The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across the LCDA.

Aroyewun, who reiterated the assurance on Thursday during his tour of the Ibeshe Primary Health Centre (PHC), an inspection which revealed the deplorable state of the facility in terms of infrastructure and manpower, underscored the urgent need for intervention to ensure that residents of Ibeshe and its environs have access to quality and reliable healthcare services.

Currently, the centre operates on an 8-hour daily basis with a limited number of health workers, leaving a gap in service delivery during emergencies, especially at night. Chairman Aroyewun, moved by the condition of the facility, announced plans to not only renovate and upgrade the infrastructure but also to recruit additional medical personnel. This step will enable the centre to operate round the clock, providing 24-hour medical services to the community.

Speaking during the inspection, the chairman stressed that his administration’s GLORY Agenda which prioritises Good Governance, Leadership, Opportunities, Reform, and Youth Empowerment, places healthcare at the heart of community development.

He reiterated his resolve to ensure that every resident has access to functional, safe, and responsive health facilities within the LCDA.
